Years of sending movement teams into aged care, and the conversation with Dorothy that started it all.
A conversation in an aged care lounge that changed what we set out to build.
“I am here every day with the same people, and I have no one else to talk to.”
James, our COO, spent years sending movement teams into aged care facilities: mobility, balance, and the everyday movements that keep people independent. A fortnight into running sessions at one facility, Dorothy stopped him mid-conversation. She did not want to be asked how her week had been.
She was not short of care. She was short of company.
No exercise programme was going to fix that. Alongside that frontline view, our team brought experience from government consulting and from inside providers, building the models that keep facilities running.
We know the problem is real and growing. We know why the system cannot solve it alone. Sense Serra is what happened when those two views met.
Sense Serra is at the pilot stage, working with a small number of aged care and disability providers in New South Wales. We are looking for a few more who want to be early rather than eventual.
Serra is built by local talent from top universities and organisations across Australia. We understand the environment it works in, and the responsibility that comes with technology at the bedside.
Designed for aged care, disability services and home care, with local care needs in mind.
Operators and advisers who understand how care is delivered in the real world, from frontline relationships to large-scale aged care strategy and reform.
